Jean Wu

Jean Wu joined IDP in 2010 and is now working as Senior Counsellor and Project Manager of the UK Department at our Guangzhou Office. As such he is playing a key role in working with the IDP UK based team to ensure we meet the needs of our UK client universities.

Since graduating from Sun Yat-sen University with a Bachelor Degree in History, Jean has accumulated over 7 years work experience in educational counseling. Between 2004 and 2008, he worked as a Consulting Manager at GET, a student recruitment company based in both Hong Kong and Mainland China. In 2009, he moved to Chamberlain Educational Services as a UK Education Consultant. Here Jean consolidated his counselling experience and extended his skills into the specialist area of arts education, where he gained his understanding of the importance of softer elements of the university experience in achieving a good match between students and university. Jean is now in charge of IDP’s UK Department in Guangzhou China and is still providing counselling to Chinese students and their parents.

With 7 years experience Jean has gained considerable knowledge about UK education and the universities with their diverse needs. He has frequently gone to the UK to attend agent-training sessions held by a number of UK universities, which has further enhanced his expertise.
